In operation for over 30 years, Callis has more than 300 titles in its catalog. Miriam Gabbai founded the company in 1987, publishing Famous Children, the company’s first children’s series. Callis aims to educate children and young adults in Brazil on topics that are relevant for young people all over the world. Its catalog includes picture books and stories on social topics and everyday life as well as works on art, history, popular culture, music, and math by well-known authors such as Daniel Munduruku, Eliandro Rocha, Suppa, Jonas Ribeiro, Ionit Zilberman, and Rosinha. Many books have been officially recommended by the FNLIJ, and won the Jabuti and João-de-Barro awards.
